Wandle Learning Trust is looking to appoint an Individual Needs Assistant with Midday Supervisory Assistant duties to work 30 hours per week, term time only, at Grovelands Community Primary School. The successful candidate will support an individual pupil within our mainstream setting, helping them to access learning, develop their independence and engage positively in school life.
We are seeking an energetic, patient, caring and resilient individual who has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping every pupil reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SEND team and wider school staff to provide consistent, nurturing and appropriate support for the pupil. The role will involve helping the pupil to overcome barriers to learning, supporting their emotional wellbeing and encouraging positive relationships, behaviour and engagement.
Experience and knowledge of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs would be highly desirable. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who have experience supporting children who may experience difficulties with emotional regulation, behaviour, social interaction, anxiety or engagement with learning.
The successful candidate will be expected to work hard, contribute positively as part of our staff team and respond flexibly to the challenges and rewards of day-to-day school life. We are looking for someone who has high expectations of children and believes that, with the right support, every pupil can succeed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
