Salary: Up to £60,000 per year, plus up to 10%
Location: Nationwide, with frequent travel across the UK. Volvo Penta is based in Warwick.

About the Role
As an Area Account Manager, you will manage strategic OEM and key account relationships across the UK and Ireland, driving growth across the Industrial market and helping grow the Power Generation business to £36 million by 2030. You will work closely with customers across engineering, procurement and leadership teams, understanding their businesses and ambitions and connecting them with the right Volvo Penta solutions.

Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a commercially driven account manager with experience in high-capital equipment, ideally within the power generation sector, agriculture, construction, EV drivetrains, Battery energy storage solutions or commercial vehicles
- A proven track record in sales and account management, managing and growing large key accounts and building long-term customer relationships
- A strong technical background or technical knowledge, with experience selling technical products or engineered solutions
- Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence customers at all levels
- A strong customer-focused and commercial approach, with the ability to understand customer needs, provide relevant guidance and identify opportunities
- Excellent organisation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop strong internal and external networks and manage multiple opportunities
- A full, clean driving licence and the flexibility to travel regularly across the UK and Ireland, with occasional overseas travel
- You enjoy being in the field, meeting customers, and representing a premium brand at exhibitions and industry events.
What You Will Do
- You will own the customer relationship, lead commercial discussions and coordinate opportunities across Volvo Penta, ensuring our customers receive the right support and solutions at every stage.
- Winning new platforms linked to engine or system emission legislation changes Stage 6, Euro 7 and Tier 5
- Winning opportunities in the energy transition space, offering BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), EV powertrain solutions and alternative fuel opportunities
- Working closely with our Service Market team to offer service agreements and develop joint opportunities with OEM service market
- Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing, supply agreements, commercial proposals, cost analysis and pricing models
- Target key growth opportunities and own the full sales lifecycle, from prospect, customer requirements through to quotation, order placement, delivery and after sales engagement
- Coordinate customer projects, managing timelines and expectations while bringing together application engineering, supply chain and global Volvo Penta teams
- Manage RFQs and tenders, coordinating responses, developing commercial proposals and supporting negotiations through to agreement
- Use customer and market insight to identify opportunities within existing accounts and support the development of sales and growth strategies
