About the role
You pick up a rough concept and decide what it becomes, then prove it with real prototypes rather than slides. This is a Contract Design Engineer role in advanced development near Worcester, three days on site, at £400 to £450 a day outside IR35, building the next generation of a consumer hardware range.

What You Will Own
As Contract Design Engineer you take concepts from loose idea to working prototype, on the wet or the dry side of the range.
- Modelling and detailing parts and assemblies in Creo.
- The build, test and iterate loop that proves performance and feasibility.
- Early concept direction, shaping how a product looks, works and gets built.
- The judgement calls, making sensible decisions and flagging only the ones that need sign-off.
What You Will Need
You'll fit this Contract Design Engineer role, also advertised as Contract Mechanical Design Engineer, if you bring the following.
- Extensive advanced or product development experience in physical consumer products, ideally small domestic appliances, power tools or similar high-volume hardware.
- Strong, current Creo skills. This is essential.
- The judgement to run with a loosely defined brief and deliver without close supervision.

Handy but not essential, experience with fluid handling, airflow, separation or cyclonic systems, and exposure to Far East manufacturing.
Salary And Benefits
- £400 to £450 per day, depending on experience.
- Outside IR35, assessed and insured via Kingsbridge, so the engagement stays clean.
- Three days on site, flexibility on the other two.
