The Role

As an Industrial Disease Fee Earner, you will manage your own caseload of Industrial Disease claims from initial instruction through to conclusion. You will be expected to work proactively, maintain high standards of client care, and ensure matters are progressed efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation and procedural requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of Industrial Disease claims from instruction through to conclusion.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and commercially focused legal advice to clients.
  • Conduct litigation in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR), relevant legislation, and case law.
  • Ensure files are progressed efficiently and within required deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records.
  • Identify and address risks and compliance issues throughout the life of each matter.
  • Maintain excellent standards of client care and communication.
  • Work effectively towards individual and departmental performance and billing targets.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the wider team.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant regulatory requirements, codes of conduct, and accounts rules.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years' experience handling Industrial Disease claims is essential.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of Industrial Disease litigation.
  • Experience managing a caseload independently from instruction through to conclusion.
  • Good understanding of statutory legislation, the CPR, and relevant case law.
  • Proven billing and performance record.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong client care and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
