Solicitor, Industrial Disease

Cardiff | Permanent | Full time | 35 hours per week | 9am to 5pm | Hybrid

Do work that matters

Behind every industrial disease claim is a person whose life has been changed by something that happened at work. They may be facing an uncertain future, dealing with a serious diagnosis or trying to secure answers for themselves and their family.

This is where you come in.

We are looking for a Solicitor to join our clients Industrial Disease team in Cardiff, working with clients on claims involving asbestos exposure, respiratory disease, noise induced hearing loss and other occupational illnesses. You will have the opportunity to handle your own caseload with appropriate supervision, work on complex claims and develop genuine expertise in an area of law where the work you do can have a lasting impact.

What you will do

  • Take ownership of your cases, from the first conversation with a client through to resolution.
  • Investigate liability, review medical and employment evidence, assess quantum, prepare legal documents and build compelling cases.
  • Work closely with clients, medical experts, counsel and other professionals, keeping everyone informed and making sure claims continue to move forward.
  • Be part of a wider Personal Injury team where knowledge is shared, ideas are welcomed and people genuinely support one another.
  • Contribute to business development and help shape the continued growth of our Industrial Disease work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
