Industrial Engineer (Days)

Location: Evesham

Salary: £50,000 - £58,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: 4 Days On / 4 Days Off 06:00 - 18:00

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Industrial Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in supporting daily engineering operations, ensuring plant reliability, minimising downtime, and driving continuous improvement across site assets. This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer with strong mechanical and electrical experience who thrives in a manufacturing setting and enjoys solving complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to ensure departmental KPIs are achieved.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across production and site services equipment.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Provide clear communication regarding breakdowns, repairs, and ongoing maintenance activities through verbal updates, emails, and engineering shift reports.
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing maintenance plans and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency, reliability, and productivity.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering Administration, and Stores teams to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with company procedures, legislative requirements, and safe working practices.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, work orders, permits, and repairs.
  • Conduct thorough shift handovers, ensuring all engineering activities and site issues are clearly communicated.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum 3-5 years' engineering experience within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance and installation.
  • Experience working with some or all of the following:
    • Ammonia compressors
    • Refrigeration systems
    • Glycol plant chillers
    • Cooling towers
    • Air compressors
    • Pumps and motors
    • Industrial boilers
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and continuous improvement practices.
  • Familiarity with maintenance databases, permit-to-work systems, work orders, and stores procedures.
  • Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Basic welding skills would be advantageous.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Formal engineering qualification in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline).

Desirable:

  • HACCP Level 3
  • Food Safety Level 3
