Role description
At Tata Technologies we make product development dreams a reality by designing, engineering and validating the products of tomorrow for the world’s leading manufacturers. Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for an Industrial Engineer to be based at our customer’s site, both in Hams Hall (with travel as required to Wolverhampton).
Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
The Role
As an Industrial Engineer, you will play a key role in improving manufacturing and operational performance by analysing existing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing sustainable solutions. Working across cross-functional teams, you will design and develop innovative systems, optimise production workflows, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, cost, delivery, and overall business performance.
The role requires a strong analytical mindset, using data and industry best practices to evaluate current operations, develop process improvements, and support the successful delivery of new products and manufacturing programmes. You will be responsible for translating complex operational challenges into practical, efficient solutions that improve productivity, reduce waste, and maximise value across the organisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
