Job Title

Industrial IT Specialist - Larne

Job Purpose

Responsible for all aspects of Industrial IT support and compliance on the local site. The role works closely with the central infrastructure teams to deliver a standardised support model. This role is fully on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compliant IT solutions to support local manufacturing initiative.
  • Apply existing general IT standards and help ensure they are used in the manufacturing area of the site.
  • Support manufacturing IT infrastructures, and ensure they meet Saint-Gobain standards.
  • Act as a focal point for internal stakeholders, ITS and GDI teams in the event of operational or project issues.
  • Identify & take ownership of issues found and resolve at earliest opportunity according to priority and impact.
  • Follow change management processes for your systems.
  • Evaluate and apply industry best practices to your role and your system management tasks (Vendor recommendations, s/w & security updates etc…)
  • Ensure strong systems management processes, toolsets and documentation are developed and applied consistently for all manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Infrastructure Manager on the development and introduction of a centralised support model.
  • Audit and verification of business continuity plans and compliance to Saint-Gobain security rules for manufacturing.
  • Develop and Support digital solutions and Industry 4.0 initiatives.

  • HND or Degree in IT related studies or 5 years relevant experience.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in IT.
  • Hands on experience of supporting and managing industrial IT – Network, Servers, IOT Devices, client Endpoints.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting infrastructure applications/middleware (IIS, SQL, Veeam etc).
  • Willing to commit to one week per month on call support.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and tasks with effective decision-making skills in emergency situations.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working within ITIL Service Management environment.

Desirable

  • Certifications such as, MCSA, CCNA, VCP, RHCSA.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
