Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Industrial Painter role based in Portsmouth. The Industrial Painter will:

- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, blasting, and sanding
- Apply protective and decorative coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment according to project specifications
- Mix and match paints and coatings
- Set up and maintain equipment
- Ensure correct film thickness and coverage on a variety of industrial and marine structures
- Inspect completed work for quality
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Assist with containment and encapsulation setups to protect the surrounding environment

The role may involve working at height, in confined spaces, or in challenging weather conditions, and requires collaboration with supervisors and other trades to meet project timelines.
Qualifications
- Strong industrial painting skills, including surface preparation, application of protective coatings, and familiarity with brush, roller, and spray techniques
- Understanding of blasting processes, containment and encapsulation, and basic knowledge of industrial cleaning methods
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, including safe use of tools and equipment, adherence to PPE requirements, and awareness of working at height and confined space protocols
- Ability to read and follow job specifications, method statements, and technical data sheets, with solid attention to detail and quality standards
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity, with the ability to lift, carry, and work in varied industrial and marine environments
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions, coordinate with site supervisors, and work cooperatively with other trades
- Prior experience in industrial, marine, infrastructure, or power sector painting is highly beneficial
- Relevant trade or vocational qualifications in industrial painting, coatings, or related disciplines, and any industry-recognized certifications (e.g., ICATS, SSPC, or equivalent) are an advantage
