Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Industrial Painter role based in the Greater Cheshire West and Chester Area. The Industrial Painter will prepare steel surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming, ensuring all materials are ready for coating according to project specifications and quality standards. The role involves applying industrial paints and protective coatings using appropriate methods and equipment, including brushes, rollers, and spray systems. The Industrial Painter will inspect finished work for coverage, finish quality, and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements, making adjustments where necessary. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Reading and following work instructions and technical drawings
- Maintaining painting tools and equipment
- Working safely in a workshop and yard environment
- Collaborating with fabricators, supervisors, and quality teams to meet production deadlines
Qualifications
- Experience in industrial or structural steel painting, including surface preparation and application of protective coatings.
- Knowledge of paints, primers, and coating systems used in heavy industry, with an understanding of relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings, job cards, and work instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to inspect and correct work to meet quality and compliance standards.
- Good physical stamina and capability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying workshop and yard conditions, following all safety procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to meet production targets.
- Prior experience in a steel fabrication, construction, or heavy engineering environment is beneficial.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in industrial painting or a related discipline is an advantage, though equivalent experience will be considered.
- Commitment to safe working practices and continuous improvement in quality and productivity.
