We operate a 12-month (September 2026 - August 2027) student placement programme within our Formula E Design Office. This is an exciting opportunity where you will work with highly skilled and experienced engineering professionals and graduates who you can learn and develop with - the more questions you ask the more you will gain from your experience. It is important to know that many of our industrial placements have been successful in obtaining graduate roles on completion of their degree.

To be eligible for an industrial placement within our Formula E Design Office, you should be working towards a degree in Mathematics, Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive or Motor Sport Engineering. An understanding of vehicle dynamics, CAD design, particularly Siemens NX and programming would be advantageous.

What you will do

During the Formula E Design Office placement, you will take on responsibilities such as:

  • Design of various components, both mechanical and composite, including car components and prototype and test equipment.
  • Possible requirement for attendance at various on-site test events such as chassis or component testing.
  • Possible requirement for attendance at a track test day or two during pre-season testing for the season(s).
