We operate a 12-month (September 2027 - August 2028) student placement programme within our Championship winning Formula E Powertrain department. This is an exciting opportunity where you will work with highly skilled and experienced engineering professionals and graduates who you can learn and develop with - the more questions you ask the more you will gain from your experience. The placement is based on site full time.
To be eligible for an industrial placement within our Formula E Powertrain department you should be working towards a degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Automotive or Motorsport Engineering. We encourage a multidisciplined approach to engineering which encompasses electrical, mechanical and software design.

An understanding of CAD design, particularly Siemens NX and or PCB design tools is desirable. Programming knowledge would be advantageous, as well as an interest in traction motors and inverters.
What you will do
During the placement you will take on responsibilities such as:
- Supporting design and development of race winning powertrain
- Opportunity for Mechanical CAD design on and off race car with technical drawings
- Opportunity for Electronic schematic design through to practical testing and PCB evaluation
- Testing – on site dynos and trackside testing support when required
- Opportunity for software development and implementation

Those students that are shortlisted will be invited to attend an assessment. It is expected that the student takes sole responsibility for making suitable travel and accommodation arrangements.
