Industrial Placement Opportunities – Pharmaceutical Industry
· White City, London · 12 Months · Starting Summer 2027 · £27,500 per annum
Available Placement Opportunities
We are working with a large client in the pharmaceutical space who are looking to take on 4 industrial placements for students actively working towards their degree. This position is only suitable for those currently going into their first or second year of university. You will not be considered if you are starting your third year. The available positions are as follows:
- Statistical Programmers
- Biostatisticians
- Data Scientists

About the Placement Programme
This is a 12-month industrial placement starting in Summer 2027, based at our modern UK offices in White City, London. You'll be part of Advanced Quantitative Sciences (AQS), a team of programmers, biostatisticians and data scientists who contribute their expertise across every stage of drug development.

This role is expected to be primarily office-based at our modern, collaborative workplace in the heart of White City, London. Being together in our friendly office is how you'll build relationships, learn quickly from experienced colleagues, and feel part of the team from day one.
Placement Roles
- Statistical programmers transform raw clinical trial data into reliable, meaningful outputs that support drug development and regulatory submissions. You'll develop programming skills to build the datasets, tables and figures that help address real healthcare challenges.
- Biostatisticians work across the entire drug develop lifecycle helping to design studies and analyse clinical trial data. You'll work alongside experienced statisticians to turn complex data into clear insights.
- Data Scientists explore data, apply innovative methods to generate new insights from healthcare and clinical datasets. You'll experiment with modern approaches to uncover what the data is really telling us.
What You'll Be Doing
- Working hands-on with real clinical trial and healthcare data
- Supporting live medicines development programmes that affect real patients
- Using SAS and R and getting exposure to emerging AI tools
- Collaborating with experienced colleagues and international, global teams
- Learning and applying new analytical and statistical techniques
- Presenting your findings and contributing to real team decisions and recommendations
- Managing aspects of meaningful projects under the guidance of experienced colleagues

Who We're Looking For
We're looking for curious, analytical people who love solving problems and want to learn.
You'll need to have completed at least two years of your undergraduate degree before starting, as this placement is typically undertaken after your second year and before your final year of study. You must remain enrolled at your university throughout the placement year.
You'll thrive here if you have:

- Good attention to detail
- The ability to collaborate and communicate clearly
- An interest in healthcare, data and innovation
We welcome students studying Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science and Computer Science degrees — but if you're studying another quantitative or analytical subject and you're excited by this work, we'd genuinely love to hear from you. Some familiarity with a programming language such as R, SAS or Python is a plus, but your enthusiasm to learn is what matters most.

Additional Information
Please ensure that you are willing and able to live within commutable distance of the company site before applying. This placement is based in White City, London and whilst we support hybrid working, we expect our students to be in the office a minimum of four days per week. Working patterns may be subject to change in line with business needs and company policies.
For the duration of your contract, you will be employed by SRG, who are acting as the recruitment agency for this role.
