The Team

This role sits within L.E.K.’s Industrials team, one of our fastest-growing practices across Europe. The team works with leading corporates and investors on the major trends reshaping industry, from the energy transition, electrification and sustainable infrastructure to AI, automation, digitalisation and evolving global supply chains. Our work spans Building & Construction, Industrial Equipment & Technology, and Energy & Environment, offering exposure to a broad range of businesses, markets and strategic challenges.

As the practice continues to grow across Europe, we are expanding both our client base and our capabilities across strategy, M&A, operations and supply chain, pricing, and digital, data & analytics. Team members work collaboratively across offices and have the opportunity to build deep sector expertise while contributing to the continued growth and development of the Industrials practice.

The Role

Consultants play a central role within L.E.K. case teams, shaping the approach to client problems and translating analysis into clear, practical recommendations. They act as an important link between senior team members, junior colleagues and clients, helping to ensure that project work is delivered to a consistently high standard.

Working closely with Managers, Principals and Partners, Consultants lead workstreams, identify key client issues, structuring and managing analysis and contributing to the development of practical, evidence-based recommendations, while managing the day-to-day work of Associates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help define the client’s key business issues, priorities and the critical questions the case team needs to answer.
  • Structure and lead project workstreams, developing clear approaches to market, customer, competitor, financial and strategic analysis.
  • Guide the team in gathering, interpreting and synthesising qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Review analysis to ensure it is accurate, commercially relevant and focused on the client’s core questions.
  • Translate findings into clear conclusions, recommendations and implications for the client.
  • Manage the day-to-day work of Associates, including allocating tasks, setting expectations, monitoring progress and reviewing outputs.
  • Coach and develop junior team members through regular guidance, feedback and knowledge sharing.
  • Act as a key link between senior case team members, junior colleagues and clients.
  • Manage routine client interactions and build effective working relationships with client stakeholders.
  • Support and contribute to client meetings, workshops and presentations.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality client deliverables, including presentations, models, analysis and written outputs.
  • Proactively identify and communicate emerging insights, project risks, bottlenecks and changes in direction.
  • Escalate significant decisions relating to scope, timelines, resourcing, recommendations or sensitive client matters to the appropriate senior team member.
  • Support clients in translating recommendations into practical actions, implementation plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Has strong experience in strategy consulting, transaction or M&A advisory within the industrials space.
  • Demonstrates excellent structured problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Can quickly identify and prioritise the most important business issues.
  • Is comfortable leading strategic, commercial and financial analysis.
  • Can manage workstreams independently while maintaining appropriate alignment with senior team members.
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills and can explain complex ideas clearly.
  • Is confident engaging with clients and managing a range of stakeholders.
  • Can effectively manage, coach and develop junior colleagues.
  • Demonstrates strong commercial judgement and an ability to translate analysis into practical recommendations.
  • Is highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Has strong attention to detail and takes ownership of the quality of their work.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgement, integrity and high ethical standards.
  • Degree-level education, with a strong academic track record.
