Department: KBS Careers

About Us

The King’s Business School Careers team has grown significantly in recent years, alongside an ambitious expansion in the ways we connect students with employers, industry and practical career experiences.

Supporting around 4,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, our provision is shaped by the sectors, functions and global markets our students aspire to enter.

About the Role

We are seeking an Industry & Employability Manager to join our friendly and ambitious Careers team.

This new role will build and develop relationships with employers, alumni and industry contacts, translating these connections into meaningful opportunities that strengthen students’ career readiness and employment prospects. The postholder will develop a varied portfolio of industry engagement, from office visits, sector-focused experiences and networking to employer-led skills and applied activities.

They will also identify opportunities for internships, placements and graduate employment where these emerge through industry relationships, while drawing on wider King’s employer and labour-market insight to inform where KBS activity can add greatest value.

Working collaboratively across Careers and with colleagues in Partnerships, Alumni, the wider Business School and King’s College London careers colleagues, the postholder will have significant scope to shape this evolving area of provision, develop relationships, and test new approaches that strengthen students’ exposure to industry, experience with industry and pathways into employment.

Please note, the position is a hybrid post and requires a minimum of 40% on-campus presence, minimum 2 days a week in our Bush House, The Strand offices. This is a full time post and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrable experience of developing and managing external relationships, with the ability to build credibility, influence others and translate relationships into tangible opportunities and outcomes.
  • Substantial experience of designing, organising and delivering a varied programme of activities or events, managing the practical requirements, stakeholders and resources needed to deliver consistently high-quality experiences.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading complex initiatives from development through to delivery and evaluation, coordinating multiple stakeholders, balancing competing priorities and taking ownership for successful outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of graduate or early-career recruitment, industry engagement and employment trends, with the ability to apply this knowledge to identify relevant opportunities and areas for development.
  • Demonstrable ability to influence and work collaboratively across different professional groups, using strong interpersonal and communication skills to gain engagement, shape activity and achieve shared objectives.
  • Evidence of identifying gaps or opportunities and developing practical responses, using insight, feedback or data to make recommendations, evaluate effectiveness and continually improve provision.
  • Demonstrable commitment to inclusive practice, with the ability to identify and address barriers to participation and develop activity that broadens access to industry experiences and employment opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
