About The Candidate

As an Industry Placement Officer, you will make a direct difference to young people's futures by connecting them with meaningful industry experiences and supporting them to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required for progression. You will be instrumental in creating high-quality placement opportunities, strengthening employer partnerships and ensuring every student is supported to make the most of their experience.
About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving Education and Early Years team and play a key role in supporting students undertaking Level 2 and T Level programmes, particularly T Level Education and Early Years, as well as supporting placement activity within Health.
You will be responsible for sourcing and coordinating high-quality industry placements, working closely with employers, students, curriculum teams and placement supervisors to ensure that placements are safe, purposeful and meet awarding organisation requirements.

The role offers the opportunity to combine employer engagement, student support, assessment and some face-to-face teaching. You will develop strong professional networks across industry while gaining valuable experience of supporting students to apply their learning in real-world settings. This role includes assessing students against the Education and Care competencies for license to practice.
Role Responsibilities
- Source, develop and coordinate high-quality industry placements that meet curriculum requirements and awarding organisation standards.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with employers, placement supervisors, students, parents and college colleagues to ensure placements are successful and students are well supported.
- Undertake placement visits and assessments, assessing students' competency and completing accurate documentation to meet awarding organisation and external quality assurance requirements.
- Work closely with Curriculum Managers, Personal Development Tutors and students to effectively match placement opportunities to students' career pathways, timetables and geographical needs.
- Maintain accurate placement records and student information, including tracking placement hours and monitoring progress through ProMonitor, Grofar and the College CRM.
- Support the development of students' sector knowledge and employability skills through face-to-face delivery, employer events and wider curriculum and industry engagement.
Qualifications
- Appropriate vocational/specialist qualification relevant to the role.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience of assessing students or learners within work placement or occupational settings.
- Experience of supporting and assessing learners undertaking work placements.
- A good understanding of work placements and the requirements associated with supporting students in industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, employers, colleagues and placement supervisors.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and appropriately with a wide range of people.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good IT and digital skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and use systems to monitor and track student progress.
- Excellent team-working skills and a commitment to collaborative working.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and creating an inclusive environment in which students feel valued and supported.

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Assessor and/or verifier qualification.
- QCF Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent.
- Teaching qualification such as PCE, CTLLS, DTLLS, PCET or PGCE.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent.
- Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics.
- Experience of working with employers to develop industry or work placement opportunities.
- Experience of delivering teaching, training or skills development to students or learners.
- Experience of using placement, learner tracking or customer relationship management systems.
