As an Automation Manager within our Digital Manufacturing & Operations practice, your role is to design and implement world-class solutions that integrate technology, data, and human processes. These solutions drive operational efficiency, process improvements, and lasting value for our clients. You’ll collaborate closely with technology and consulting teams across the project lifecycle, transforming traditional factory operations to become more agile, dynamic, and sustainable.

Key Responsibilities
Client & Project Delivery
- Help clients achieve their digital transformation goals by redesigning factory/plant infrastructure for operational excellence through modernisation of greenfield and brownfield sites.
- Scope, shape, and deliver tangible business value through end-to-end projects, including:
- Current state assessments to identify efficiency gaps.
- Process optimisation using data-driven, technology-enabled solutions.
- Development of business cases, value-led transformation journeys, and implementation roadmaps.
- Partnership with clients to reimagine business processes, operating models, and operational capabilities, leveraging advances in AI, IoT, robotics, and analytics.
Technology & Solution Design
- Drive the conversion of client visions into scalable digital solutions, covering areas such as:
- Factory automation & robotics
- Digital twinning, MES/MOM systems
- Connected worker, augmented/virtual reality
- Advanced IIoT platforms and edge/cloud architectures
- Asset and equipment maintenance systems
- Industrial IoT and cyber-physical integration
- Ensure secure, resilient, and low-friction integration of applications across edge environments, on-premise setups, and cloud architectures.

Collaboration & Relationship Management
- Build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders—clients, internal domain experts, and external partners—across all career levels.
- Provide coaching and career development support to Accenture’s teams, mentoring professionals within Industry X.
- Involve in sales processes from proposal proposals to client presentations, effectively shaping, tuning, and delivering solutions.
Innovation & Industry Expertise
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and their practical applications, particularly in AI-driven automation, predictive maintenance, and earned energy systems.
- Apply operational and business acumen to evolve technologies like PLC, DCS, SCADA, and ERP platforms for advanced manufacturing outcomes.
Requirements
Core Competencies
- Hands-on experience designing and delivering automation solutions in discrete or process manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of:
- Operational challenges in factories, plants, and asset-heavy industries (e.g., IIoT, CMMS, predictive maintenance).
- Digital technologies (MES, specification tools, cloud-edge middleware tools) and their real-world implementation.
- Value estimation in technology rollouts, integration risks, and ongoing implementations.
- Proven ability to identify process bottlenecks, develop scalable solutions, and advocate for solutions with measurable outcomes.
- Collaborative mindset: Thriving in multi-disciplinary teams where individual success aligns with collective goals.
Must-Have Technical Proficiency

Experience with:
- Automation systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA)
- Cloud/IoT platforms and rooted sensor technologies
- Enterprise asset and computerised maintenance management (CMMS) systems
- Manufacturing execution systems (MES/MOM)
- Specification tools and formats for automation systems (e.g., VM Clouds)
- IT/OT resilience and security in factory environments.

Industry exposure in sectors such as:
- Automotive, aerospace, defence, energy, utilities, chemicals, pharmaceuticals.
Teamwork & Growth
- Commitment to customer-centric innovation, with proven mettle for upskilling enterprise teams on cleaning tools and technologies.
