INEC Launches 2026 Recruitment Exercise for Various Positions Nationwide

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially commenced its 2026 Recruitment Exercise, inviting suitably qualified Nigerians to apply for various entry-level positions across the commission.
According to the official announcement, the recruitment aims to strengthen INEC’s institutional capacity in key areas such as electoral administration, voter registration, data management, election logistics, and other critical electoral operations.

Categories of Vacancies
The Commission Is Recruiting For The Following Positions
- Professional Cadre (Lawyers, Clinical Officers, IT Officers, Engineers, Accountants, etc.) — Grade Levels 09, 10, and 12
- Administrative Officer II (Registration Area Officer) — Grade Level 08
- Executive Officer (Assistant Registration Area Officer) — Grade Level 07
Qualification Requirements
Requirements Vary By Cadre
- Professional Cadre: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Master’s in relevant fields, plus professional certifications where applicable (e.g., NBA, MDCN, COREN, NSE, ICAN, ANAN, CPN). Candidates must demonstrate practical knowledge, analytical and communication skills, and proficiency in computer applications.
- Administrative Officer II: Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Social Sciences, Humanities, or related fields, plus NYSC discharge certificate and relevant ICT skills.
- Executive Officer: National Certificate in Education (NCE) or equivalent, with basic computer knowledge and good communication skills.

- Be Nigerian citizens by birth or descent
- Possess a valid Certificate of State of Origin
- Be computer literate (Liaison Officers will not be accepted)
- Be certified medically and mentally fit by a Government Medical Officer
- Be of good character with no criminal record
- Not be above 35 years of age at the time of application
- Be willing to serve in any part of the Federation
Application Process
Applications are free of charge and must be submitted online only through the official INEC recruitment portal: https://recruitment.inecnigeria.org
Candidates are required to complete the application form, upload necessary credentials, and submit before the deadline.
Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the next stage of the exercise.
Period of Application: Monday, 20th July 2026 to Monday, 27th July 2026.
Important Notice

- No upgrading of qualifications after submission will be entertained.
