Inert & Closed Landfill Site Supervisor
Salary – £32,454 - £40,568 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours – 40 Hours per week
Location & Postcode – Essex, RM12 5BF
As an Inert & Closed Landfill Site Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for supervising and leading the site team, managing resources and coordinating activities to provide an effective and efficient service. You will ensure that operations comply with health and safety standards, company policies, procedures and waste management legislation, while minimising the site’s environmental impact and maintaining high standards of service.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week.

What will you be doing?
- Ensuring all site operations comply with health and safety standards, company policies, procedures and relevant waste management legislation
- Supervising and leading the site team, managing resources and coordinating day-to-day activities
- Ensuring the team and site operations meet agreed targets and KPIs
- Maintaining service standards and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Conducting daily and weekly audits to ensure operations meet required health and safety standards
- Completing risk assessments and ensuring safe systems and methods of work are followed
- Ensuring the environmental impact of site activities is minimised, and relevant procedures and regulations are followed
- Maintaining relevant systems and paperwork to support effective team and site management
- Managing staff timesheets, holidays, sickness and absence records
- Organising and delivering staff communications, meetings and training
- Ensuring employees and subcontractors are suitably trained and competent to carry out their duties
- Ensuring accident, incident and near-miss reporting procedures are understood and followed, and assisting with investigations where appropriate
- Delivering customer expectations in relation to service and quality while operating the site efficiently and effectively

What are we looking for?
- Previous experience of working with or managing a team
- A management or supervisory qualification
- Previous experience of working within the waste industry
- Effective organisational and planning skills
- Experience of conducting audits and completing risk assessments
- Experience in quality control
- An IOSH qualification
- Good computer skills
- A full Category B driving licence
- The ability to work flexibly and manage changing operational priorities
- A strong understanding of health, safety and environmental responsibilities
- The ability to communicate effectively with employees, contractors, customers and visitors
