Inert and Closed Landfill Site Supervisor
Salary – £32,454 - £40,568 (plus benefits)
Hours – Full-time
Location – Cambridgeshire, PE1 3TD
As an Inert and Closed Landfill Site Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for ensuring inert and closed landfill sites are operated safely, efficiently and in compliance with environmental permits, company procedures and contractual obligations. You will supervise contractor activities, oversee restoration and operational projects, conduct site inspections and work closely with regulatory bodies, customers and internal teams to support business objectives.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
- Supervising inert and closed landfill sites to ensure safe and compliant operations
- Monitoring site activities in line with environmental permits, company procedures and contractual requirements
- Conducting daily, weekly and monthly site inspections and checks
- Managing and overseeing contractors working across multiple sites
- Ensuring waste, soil and restoration materials are handled efficiently and safely
- Liaising with customers, regulatory bodies and local stakeholders
- Supporting landfill gas and leachate management activities to maintain environmental compliance
- Organising site inductions for contractors, visitors and temporary workers
- Identifying site maintenance requirements and coordinating remedial works
- Promoting a strong health, safety and environmental culture across all site activities
What are we looking for?
- Previous supervisory experience, ideally within the waste management industry
- Understanding of environmental issues, including landfill gas, leachate and surface water management
- Experience supervising contractors and coordinating site activities
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and smartphone use
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel between sites during the working day
- Flexibility to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Full, clean UK driving licence
