Salary: £39,355 to £45,413

Release Date: Thursday 08 October 2026

Closing Date: Sunday 18 October 2026

Reference: INF171-26

About The Role

As our new Electrical Services, Design and Standards Manager, you will become the University's recognised technical authority for electrical engineering, taking ownership of electrical standards, compliance, infrastructure resilience and future investment planning across a diverse and complex estate.

This is an excellent opportunity to influence strategy, modernise processes, develop high-performing teams and establish the standards that will underpin our electrical infrastructure for years to come.

If you are passionate about electrical safety, engineering excellence and developing people, and want the opportunity to make a genuine impact in a forward-thinking university environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Reporting to the Head of Estates and Facilities Management, you will lead the University's electrical engineering function, acting as the appointed Electrical Duty Holder and Authorised Person (Electrical).

The role combines strategic leadership with technical expertise, providing governance and assurance for all electrical systems across the University estate. You will be responsible for developing electrical standards, maintenance strategies and asset investment plans, ensuring our infrastructure remains safe, compliant, resilient and fit for the future.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
