Job Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Acute Services Infection Prevention and Control Team for a Band 6 Infection Prevention and Control Nurse on a fixed-term or secondment basis until September 2027.
Job Requirements
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic first-level registered nurse
- Experience in an infection prevention and control role or substantial post-registration experience within acute services
- Educated to degree level or working towards this
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across a range of clinical environments
- Cover services across North Highland Acute Services, including the National Treatment Centre, Raigmore Hospital, Caithness General Hospital, and Belford Hospital
- Support the delivery of a high-quality Infection Prevention and Control service
- Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs)
- Ensure compliance with national standards, including the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual (NIPCM), through audit, surveillance, training, and education programmes

Requirements
- Hold a recognised Infection Prevention and Control qualification, or demonstrate a strong interest in IP&C, with the ability to work independently whilst receiving support and supervision from the Senior IP&C Nurse
- Full driving licence is essential due to regular travel across sites
