Influencer and Creator Director

We're looking for an Influencer and Creator Director to build our Influencer & Creator department, spanning influencer marketing, creator partnerships, and UGC.

You’ll be a strong influencer and creator strategist, whilst having strength in commercial growth, team development and creator operations.

If you’re commercially ambitious, strategically sharp, and excited by building a market-leading creator and affiliate offering within a fully integrated social agency, this is your opportunity.

Having won Best Large Social Agency in the UK (3 years in a row!) and experiencing continued growth, we're now looking to take on our next team member to enhance our Influencer Marketing team!

Our service offering includes Social, Creative, Influencer, Paid and Commerce.

We’re a team of over 70 across Bath, London, New York and Miami, with ambitious plans.

Our client categories are typically Fashion, Beauty, Personal Care, Home & Living, Food & Beverage, Hospitality & Travel, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  • Act as the strategic lead and primary client contact across flagship Influencer accounts, shaping account and campaign strategy to ensure we're delivering the best results for our clients.
  • Oversee campaign performance and ensure measurable impact.
  • Shape long-term creator and partnership strategies aligned to brand and performance objectives.
  • Lead senior client conversations with authority and commercial confidence.
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships that unlock account growth.

  • Support in developing the long-term vision for our Influencer & Creator department.
  • Shape clear frameworks, processes and standards to ensure consistent, best-in-class delivery.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities, commercial models and growth levers.
  • Have oversight of our department P&L, including looking at software and tech budgets for the department.
  • Ensure our Influencer proposition remains competitive, differentiated and future-focused.

Commercial Ownership & New Business

  • Own and grow Influencer revenue targets
  • Lead Influencer workstreams within new business pitches, shaping strategy, pricing and narrative.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Influencer services within existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with Paid, Organic and Creative teams to drive integrated growth solutions.
  • Support department profitability and commercial forecasting.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing Influencer team.
  • Set clear expectations and performance standards.
  • Build progression pathways and support long-term talent development.
  • Hire strategically as the department scales.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, creativity and ambition.

Industry Presence & Innovation

  • Stay ahead of shifts within the creator economy, platforms and partnership models.
  • Translate trends into innovative service offerings and strategic opportunities.
  • Position The Social Shepherd as a credible, forward-thinking Influencer partner.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and industry visibility where relevant.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Significant experience in creator and influencer marketing, ideally within an agency environment.
  • Proven experience leading senior client relationships at a strategic level.
  • Experience building, scaling and nurturing a team.
  • Strong commercial acumen - comfortable owning revenue targets and contributing to profitability.
  • A track record of contributing to or leading successful new business pitches.
  • Deep understanding of the creator economy and performance-led partnership models.
  • Confident communicator with senior-level presence.
  • Ambitious, entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build something market-leading.

THINGS TO NOTE

🏠 Work From Home: we operate a hybrid model where team members come to the office 3 days a week and WFH 2 days a week - although there is the option to work from the office more days if preferred. Our team loves working collaboratively, but also likes the option and balance of working from home.

🕐 Flexible hours: some people are early birds, and others like to start later. We allow people to set their own times, with some people starting at 8am and getting to finish up earlier. Our core hours are 10am - 4pm. We trust our team to get their work done on their schedule.
