On behalf of DWP, we are looking for an Informatica Test Engineer for a 12 Month (Inside IR35) contract based up to 3 days per week in Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle or Blackpool.

Purpose

To support and reduce technical debt, refactor legacy feeds and migrate services to the cloud, specialist Informatica PowerCenter engineering capability is required to maintain and enhance existing data integrations, support cutovers and source system changes, and ensure data remains accessible, performant and reliable for users.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Experience testing Informatica and SAS data pipelines
  • Strong SQL and database knowledge, particularly Oracle and data warehouse structures (e.g. dimensional models, SCD types)
  • Test thoroughly by creating and using synthetic test data to make sure data schema, mappings and processes work as expected
  • Provide support and guidance where needed to other test engineers
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Review requirements, specifications, and defining test conditions.
  • Executing test scripts and scenario's
  • Facilitate test planning and estimation.
  • Defect management and resolution
  • Test reporting to stakeholders
  • Experience with agile methodology and continuous improvement processes
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • ISTQB certified

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in testing Informatica and SAS data pipelines
  • Strong SQL and Database knowledge, particularly Oracle
  • Defect Management and resolution
  • Previous experience of working in other government departments would be an advantage
