The Role
As part of the Information Centre team, this Information Centre Coordinator role supports the Information Centre Leadership team to develop and deliver high quality, innovative student-focused first-line Information Centre support services and oversight of library buildings.

The Information Centre acts as the first point of contact for a variety of student support services across the University, answering with empathy a wide range of student enquiries. The Information Centre Coordinator role also acts as a point of referral for more complex, multi-faceted enquiries taking a proactive approach to supporting members of the team. The role provides support to students who require further generalist advice and guidance, navigating the University’s second line specialist advice services or accessing emergency support.
The Information Centre Coordinator role is also responsible for the day to day supervision of library spaces including opening and closing building as required, managing behaviour and resolving and escalating issues within these spaces. This role is an on-campus position, that requires flexibility to work across all sites as required including some evening and weekends depending on service requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
