We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Information Controller to join our team, supporting the delivery of the Mossy Hill Substation project as part of the SSEN framework. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a major infrastructure project, playing a key role in ensuring project information and documentation are managed accurately and efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with the Information Manager and wider project team, you will support the control, distribution, and management of project documentation, helping to ensure information is maintained in accordance with project requirements and company standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career within the energy sector while contributing to the successful delivery of a significant infrastructure scheme in Shetland.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage and control project documentation in accordance with project procedures and requirements.
  • Ensure all documents are accurately recorded, distributed, and maintained within document management systems.
  • Support the flow of information between project stakeholders, ensuring documentation is issued and received in a timely manner.
  • Maintain document registers and tracking logs, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor document status and revision control to ensure teams are working from the latest approved information.
  • Assist with the preparation, filing, archiving, and retrieval of project documentation.
  • Work closely with the Information Manager and project team to support effective information management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, project procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Support project reporting and audits by providing accurate documentation and records when required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives relating to information and document management.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications

  • Experience in a document control, information control, administration, or similar project support role.
  • Previous document control experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or related industries would be advantageous.
  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent diligence.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Experience using document management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to consult effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work to established procedures.
  • Initiative-taking and collaborative approach to work.
  • Commitment to maintaining exacting standards of accuracy, quality, and confidentiality.
  • Interest in developing a career within the infrastructure and energy sectors.

About The Energy Business Unit

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
