Cygnet have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Information Governance Administrator to join our team.
Joining our team on a full time, permanent basis, you will work 40hrs across 5 days within our Birmingham office, please note, hybrid/flexile working may be considered for the right individual.

The Role
They will be responsible for supporting the wider team with various Information Governance requirements of the Cygnet group. This may include policy development, information governance support, advice and guidance, audits, archiving, action plans, training and compliance with the Data Security and Protection Toolkit requirements. As part of the role you will be ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR. The main task currently due to workload volume would be access to records and subject access requests.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Administration tasks for the Information Governance Team.
- Raise awareness of the importance of information governance and encourage all staff that hold, obtain, record, use and share information to do so according to Cygnet IG Policies and good practice.
- Support in ensuring that the annual Data Security and Protection assessment is completed each year in conjunction with Cygnet’s Digital Services department and IG Board.
- Assist with keeping up to date all asset maps for the organisation as well as reviewing and risk assessing when necessary.
- Provide support with records management to all sites. This will include site visits so travel will be expected, as well as providing advice and support in all aspects of records management to include archiving of information and retention periods.
- Maintain Access to Records register and assist with collation of information for Access to Records requests.
- Support with the Information Governance projects.
- Supporting with the security team administration and assisting with asset management and the wider security agenda.
- Ensure that sound principles for IG are embedded into practice and identify / champion new and emerging IG initiatives.
- Assist in the improvement and implement of IG awareness and training programs for induction and on-going training.
- Help deliver specific training to staff as and when required.
- To identify own training needs and undertake regular continued professional development.
