About The Information Assurance Team
The Information Assurance team leads UEL’s approach to information rights, privacy and information governance, helping the University use information responsibly, meet its legal obligations and protect the trust of students, staff and partners. Sitting within the Office for Compliance, Governance and Legal Services, the team provides practical advice, assurance and leadership on issues that affect how information is accessed, shared, retained and protected across UEL. The team is at the centre of UEL’s vision to build strong, high-trust information across its operations. As a small team, we work collaboratively and value practical problem-solving, shared learning and constructive challenge. The team’s culture is supportive and open to new ideas, with space to contribute to developing approaches that improve how information is managed across the University.
About The Job
UEL is building its records management and information governance maturity from the ground up. This role will manage and deliver key workstreams within the University’s information governance programme, helping to put practical processes in place to identify, document, manage and protect key information assets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
