Information Manager

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Information Manager to join our team, supporting the delivery of a major energy infrastructure project and wider portfolio of works. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in driving digital delivery, information governance, and best practice information management across both project and business functions.
As the project progresses from Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) into delivery, you will help ensure project information is managed effectively, remains compliant with client requirements and industry standards, and supports efficient collaboration between project teams, designers, clients, and supply chain partners.
Working within a growing Information Management function, this role offers the opportunity to influence project delivery, support digital transformation initiatives, develop ISO 19650 best practice, and gain exposure to major infrastructure projects and emerging digital technologies.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Information Management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, project governance standards, and ISO 19650 principles.
- Manage project information within Common Data Environments (CDEs), ensuring information is accurate, accessible, controlled, and up to date.
- Develop, maintain, and implement Information Management Plans (IMPs), Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDPs), and associated governance documentation.
- Support document control processes and information assurance activities.
- Establish and maintain effective information management procedures and workflows.
- Produce project reporting, performance metrics, and management information to support decision-making.
- Monitor compliance with information management processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to project teams on information management systems and procedures.
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, commercial, design, and delivery teams to ensure effective information flow.
- Function as a key point of contact for clients, designers, suppliers, and other stakeholders regarding project information requirements.
- Support digital initiatives, innovation programmes, and continuous improvement activities across the business.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of information governance and data management best practices.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Experience in Information Management, Document Control, Digital Engineering, or a similar role within infrastructure, construction, engineering, or energy projects.
- Working knowledge of ISO 19650 standards and information management principles.
- Experience managing project information, workflows, transmittals, reporting processes, and information governance requirements.
- Strong understanding of Common Data Environments (CDEs) and digital information management practices.
- Experience engaging with project teams and stakeholders to drive process compliance and continuous improvement.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain exacting standards of accuracy.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and critical thinking skills.
- Degree qualification is desirable but not essential.
Technical Knowledge
- Experience using Common Data Environment platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Viewpoint 4Projects, SharePoint, or similar systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of information governance, reporting, and document control processes.
- Understanding of metadata management and digital information workflows.
- Experience working with digital collaboration tools and project information systems.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the energy, utilities, transmission, or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience supporting projects through ECI and delivery phases.
- Knowledge of Power BI dashboard development and reporting.
- Digital engineering or BIM-related experience.
- Experience developing Information Management Plans, MIDPs, and governance documentation.
- Experience supporting process improvement, digital transformation, and information management initiatives.
- Membership of a relevant professional body, such as APM, IRMS, CIOB, ICE, or equivalent, is advantageous.

About The Energy Business Unit
We have experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
