JAB Recruitment is supporting an established UK energy organisation in the appointment of an Information & Samples Coordinator to join its team in Barrow-in-Furness. This is a specialist role with responsibility for ensuring regulatory compliance across subsurface, wells, production, infrastructure, decommissioning and information/sample management. The successful candidate will act as the principal focal point for engagement with the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) regarding Information & Samples requirements and statutory data obligations.

The position will be particularly important across late-life and decommissioning assets, ensuring that regulatory submissions, legacy data remediation, physical samples and digital archives are managed accurately and in accordance with UK regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary focal point for engagement with the NSTA Data Compliance team.
  • Coordinate and deliver statutory NSTA submissions, including infrastructure GIS data, stewardship information, decommissioning and relinquishment data, production reporting and well-data corrections.
  • Manage Missing Data Requests / Section 34 Notices, ensuring responses are delivered within regulatory deadlines.
  • Coordinate legacy and decommissioning data submission plans and future NSTA Calls for Data.
  • Manage digital submissions to the National Data Repository (NDR), including seismic, site survey, wellbore and legacy datasets.
  • Oversee physical samples and archives, including retention, transfer and disposal requirements and relevant reporting to the British Geological Survey (BGS).
  • Develop, maintain and track Information & Samples Plans (ISPs) for decommissioning and licence relinquishment events.
  • Ensure ISP commitments are delivered, auditable and aligned with asset lifecycle and UKCS licensing requirements.
  • Support the management and integration of subsurface, wells and infrastructure data, including transition of technical data stores to cloud-based solutions.
  • Act as the bridge between technical disciplines and corporate data-governance requirements.
  • Act as a key user/focal point for NDR, PEARS, UK Energy Portal systems and GIS/mapping.
  • Work closely with Wells, Subsurface, Decommissioning, Legal, Commercial, Information Management and IT teams to ensure regulatory obligations are understood and delivered.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
