Infrastructure & Security Engineer
Location: Luton
Duration: 6 month initial contract
Start: Immediately, Interviews available this week
Rate: Quotes, Inside IR35
We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our customers who are looking for an experienced Infrastructure & Security Engineer to support the delivery of strategic technology and security projects focused on strengthening the infrastructure, improving cyber resilience, and supporting the secure operation of critical business services.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and optimisation of enterprise infrastructure solutions.
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations and technology refresh activities.
- Provide technical expertise across Microsoft cloud and on-premises platforms.
- Review existing infrastructure architecture and recommend improvements.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, implementation plans and operational procedures.
- Conduct infrastructure security reviews and identify security improvement opportunities.
- Implement security controls and hardening standards across server and cloud environments.
- Support vulnerability management and remediation activities.
- Assist with identity, access management and privileged access controls.
- Work with internal technology teams to ensure alignment with organisational policies and industry best practice.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects and technical teams to deliver Project objectives.
- Provide technical insight and guidance during project implementation.
- Manage technical risks and dependencies.
- Engage with technology suppliers and support teams as required.
- Contribute to project reporting, status updates and governance activities.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Microsoft 365, MS Defender, Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Online, Intune
- Azure, Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Intune
- Conditional Access and Identity Security
- Infrastructure migration and modernisation projects
- Strong understanding of cyber security principles and best practice.
- Experience implementing infrastructure security controls.
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 and CIS Controls.
- Experience supporting vulnerability assessments and remediation programmes.
- Understanding of identity, access management and network security concepts.
