It’s an exciting time to work in our highly innovative Information Security team. We’re growing our existing team to ensure we continue to do a wonderful job protecting our business, our people, and our customers from daily threats and you have an opportunity to join the team as an Information Security Architect.
In this role, you’ll join a team who’re responsible for the development of our security strategy, creation of security design and provision of security architectural assurance and consultancy.
You’ll ensure all technology investments deliver appropriate security controls that protect the business and our customers, and you’ll be responsible for solving and communicating complex security problems. Plus you will get to select/design security solutions to secure a hybrid architecture including both information and operational technology as well as cloud and emerging technologies.
The decisions you make will fundamentally determine whether Severn Trent can manage its data and information/operational systems to enable us to deliver our business services securely.
You'll be based at our Severn Trent Centre head office in Coventry. You’ll work within our dedicated team of 10 security architects and with this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week, working Monday to Friday.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You’ll join a team of Security Architects within an Information Security function alongside teams delivering security operations, engineering and risk and compliance.
With experience in the research, development and documentation of complex security solution, writing high level designs encompassing both cloud and on premise environments.
Understanding and awareness of industry frameworks such as NIST, NCSC CAF, CIS, IEC 62443. Plus knowledge of the NIS-R Directive and PCI DSS would be advantageous.
Ability to evaluate and propose solutions and technologies within Severn Trent to enhance its security posture, but meet the business need and culture.
Knowledge of Operational Technology OT/IOT from regulated industries highly desirable.
We’d like you to have knowledge and experience in security controls that drive modern security architecture such as identity & access management, device & infrastructure security, network security, application & workload security including integration, data security, visibility and analytics and security of cloud environments.
This role involves a substantial amount of stakeholder engagement at all levels as well as and co-operation with other specialists including external suppliers, so having robust communication skills, with the ability to influence decision making is paramount.
Ideally, you’ll have achieved industry recognised security certification, such as CCSP, CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementor, or a BCS certificate in Information Security Management. Additional product related certifications desirable, Azure, AWS etc.
