Information Security & Compliance Specialist

Blue Matter

About Us

Blue Matter is a rapidly growing strategic consulting firm serving clients in the life sciences industry. We partner with our clients to help them achieve commercial success across the product lifecycle, portfolio, and organisational strategy. Our expertise spans new product planning, brand/lifecycle planning, and corporate strategy in specialty therapeutic areas.

We foster a unique entrepreneurial culture, investing in growth to become one of the best places to work. Our global presence includes offices in:

  • US: San Francisco, New York, Boston
  • Europe: London, Zurich, Netherlands
  • India: Mumbai, Gurgaon, Pune

Why This Role Exists

Our clients are among the most security- and privacy-conscious organisations globally, trusting us with highly sensitive commercial and scientific data. Our internal AI platform, BlueCortex, is central to serving them—which raises both stakes and opportunities in data and technology governance.

As we grow, we need a dedicated owner of information security and compliance. This role sits in our Technology & Operations team based in the UK, ensuring strong alignment with:

  • GDPR and UK GDPR obligations
  • European clients and subsidiaries
  • Global team support across time zones

This isn’t a tick-box function; it’s a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll build and run the firm’s security and compliance program end-to-end—and become the trusted client point of contact for data protection questions.

What You’ll Do

Security Governance & Strategy

  • Own and execute Blue Matter’s full information security program (including BlueCortex governance).
  • Define, maintain, and operationalise security policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring they scale with the firm.
  • Manage the risk register, perform regular risk assessments, and drive risk remediation to closure.
  • Report on security and compliance posture clearly and actionably to leadership.

Compliance & Certifications

  • Lead ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certification efforts by designing control frameworks, managing documentation, and coordinating internal and external audits.
  • Establish a sustainable, audit-ready culture—avoiding last-minute scrambles.
  • Track regulatory updates (e.g., GDPR, NIS2, DORA) and translate them into actionable strategies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
