Information Services Division (ISD) is the primary provider of IT services to UCL. We support and enhance learning, teaching, research and administrative processes by providing information- and technology-related services to over 50,000 staff and students of UCL and associated institutions.

About the role
Within ISD, this post is in the Chief Information Security Office (CISO) which leads on all aspects of security at UCL. CISO is divided into two teams covering Security Operations and Governance, Risk and Compliance.
This is an exciting new role with the opportunity to participate in the delivery of a comprehensive set of Information Security services to the UCL community. You will be required to respond to a range of Information Security incidents and Information Security requests, whilst proactively promoting and achieving compliance with the agreed security posture in a pragmatic and solution-orientated manner.

About you
As the ideal candidate you will have a nice mix of the following skills & experience:
- Experience operating as part of an IT Service providing IT incident and request services.
- Experience managing or providing IT training to customers in a class or one on one basis.
- Sound technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Networks and the TCP/IP protocol suite; Firewalls and other perimeter security technology; System Administration and Server Operating Systems (Unix and/or Windows); Desktop and client devices and Desktop operating systems.
- Knowledge or awareness of some the following information security technologies: encryption, The TCP-IP protocol, vulnerability and penetration testing, compliance checking, anti-virus software, personal client firewall, network firewall & other perimeter security and intrusion detection technologies.
- Programming or script writing experience.
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
