IT Applications Manager – 12 Month FTC
📍 London | 3 days onsite
📅 12-Month FTC
💰 £96,000 per annum
We’re looking for an experienced IT Applications Manager to take ownership of the delivery, support and operational management of a portfolio of business-critical applications. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll work closely with engineers, architects, product teams, business stakeholders and suppliers to ensure applications are delivered effectively, remain secure and resilient, and continue to meet business needs.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the day-to-day delivery and operational management of critical business applications.
- Work with Product Managers and stakeholders to translate business priorities and backlogs into deliverable technical solutions.
- Lead Agile/Scrum delivery, including sprint planning, estimation, dependency management and release planning.
- Provide technical leadership to a cross-functional team of engineers, architects, business analysts, testers and suppliers.
- Manage application support, ensuring incidents, problems and defects are investigated and resolved effectively.
- Oversee application monitoring, availability, performance, patching, upgrades and maintenance.
- Lead vulnerability remediation and ensure technical and security risks are addressed within agreed timescales.
- Drive continuous improvement, technical debt reduction, automation and improvements to engineering and support processes.
- Support and develop DevOps and CI/CD practices, including automated testing, release pipelines and deployment automation.
- Ensure applications and technical solutions meet appropriate security, architecture, governance and operational resilience standards.
- Manage application changes and releases, ensuring they are properly tested, approved and deployed.
- Manage relationships with third-party suppliers, monitoring performance and addressing issues where required.
- Plan and allocate team resources to maintain continuity of service.
- Work across technology and business teams to manage dependencies, risks and competing priorities.

The role covers applications and platforms hosted within Azure, including:
- Microsoft.NET-based web applications
- Siebel CRM
- SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- APIs and application/data integration
- Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps
Experience with Siebel CRM is highly desirable, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience advantageous.
About You
You’ll ideally have:
- Strong experience managing and supporting business-critical applications.
- Experience leading technical delivery and Agile/Scrum teams.
- Strong knowledge of Azure, Azure DevOps, DevOps and CI/CD.
- Experience with application architecture, databases, APIs and systems integration.
- Experience managing incidents, technical debt, vulnerabilities and continuous improvement.
- Strong people leadership and supplier management experience.
- Experience with Siebel or similar CRM/Case Management platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
