Job Function:

As a key member of the IT team, the IT Business Analyst will identify and analyse business needs, define appropriate technology solutions and support their delivery. The role combines business analysis, solution definition, data analysis and IT initiative delivery, with a focus on practical problem solving, user outcomes and operational improvement.

The analyst will evaluate business requirements and determine the most appropriate solution using existing Bank capabilities, automation, internally developed applications, low-code platforms, approved AI-assisted development tools or third-party products and services. The role combines business analysis with hands-on solution delivery: understanding the business problem, defining the appropriate solution and using the Bank’s available development architecture and tools to turn that definition into working applications.

Key Objectives:

Business Analysis & Problem Definition:

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand objectives, processes and challenges;
  • Identify the underlying problem and intended outcome;
  • Gather, analyse and document the requirements needed to define an effective solution.

Solution Design & Development:

  • Assess technology options and define solution behaviour, business rules, workflows, data requirements and controls.
  • Use Bank-approved low-code, automation and AI-assisted development capabilities to prototype and develop solutions where appropriate.
  • The role requires sufficient technical capability to use the Bank’s development architecture, platforms and AI-assisted tools to design, build, test and refine applications, supported by a practical understanding of software logic, data structures, integrations and development concepts.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
