IT Business Analyst
Location: London
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Working arrangement: Hybrid
Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst to join a European change delivery team, working closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver Policy Administration System (PAS) transformation and wider technology change.
You will act as the link between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating complex requirements into practical solutions and supporting system enhancements, process improvements and transformation initiatives.
This role requires strong commercial insurance experience, hands-on knowledge of Policy Administration Systems and the ability to work effectively across multiple business and technology functions.
Responsibilities
- Act as an insurance subject matter expert for key internal stakeholders.
- Work across underwriting, operations, claims, finance and technology teams.
- Elicit, analyse, document and validate business, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Facilitate workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into Epics, Features, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria and process models.
- Conduct gap analysis and impact assessments for system changes and enhancements.
- Develop As-Is and To-Be process maps and target operating models.
- Support solution validation through test planning, execution and coordination.
- Work with architects and development teams to support the production of appropriate design specifications.
- Identify and assess risks within your area of expertise and support stakeholders with risk-based decision-making.
- Produce clear process documentation and support end users through change.
- Participate in implementation planning and support successful delivery outcomes.

Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst within the insurance industry.
- Hands-on experience with Policy Administration Systems.
- Strong commercial insurance experience and understanding of the sector's operational and technology challenges.
- Experience defining business analysis approaches for complex programmes and projects.
- Strong requirements gathering, analysis and documentation skills.
- Experience producing process maps and supporting business process re-engineering.
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
- Experience supporting technology change and business transformation initiatives.
- Data analysis experience.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and evolving environments.
- Proactive approach to identifying issues, risks and appropriate corrective actions.
- Experience with systems used within Consumer Lines, including Policy Administration platforms, would be beneficial.
