www.theTechRecruiter.ai is working with a growing IT solutions and managed services provider based in Glasgow to hire an IT Business Development Manager who will help organisations modernise, secure and optimise their technology environments.
Working across cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, managed services and digital transformation, they partner with clients to deliver innovative solutions that drive business outcomes.
As part of their continued growth, we are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven IT Business Development Manager to join their Glasgow-based team.
The Role
This is a full end-to-end sales position, responsible for generating new business opportunities and converting them into long-term customer relationships. You will identify prospects, build a pipeline, engage decision-makers, understand business challenges and position technology solutions to meet customer needs.

You'll work closely with technical teams and leadership to develop opportunities from initial contact through to proposal, negotiation and contract signature.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive lead generation activities.
- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline across target markets.
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand client requirements.
- Present business technology and managed service offerings.
- Prepare proposals, commercial discussions and tender responses.
- Negotiate and close new business opportunities.
- Build strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Consistently achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and forecasting information.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in an IT Business Development Manager, Account Executive, or Technology Sales role.
- Demonstrable success in both lead generation and closing new business deals.
- Background in selling IT solutions, managed services, cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or digital transformation services.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Self-motivated, driven, and target-focused.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
