The Opportunity
We are working with an established design and technology consultancy that delivers integrated workplace technology solutions across high-profile commercial fit-out projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Designer to lead the technical design and documentation of workplace technology systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in AV, IT infrastructure or smart building technology who enjoys producing highly coordinated technical documentation and working closely with project delivery teams.
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring technology solutions are accurately designed, fully coordinated and delivered successfully from concept through to installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the technical sales team by reviewing solution feasibility and ensuring proposed systems are technically deliverable.
- Interpret client requirements and develop fully coordinated technical design packages for construction.
- Produce detailed construction drawings, M&E layouts, system schematics, and equipment rack drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop comprehensive network schedules and coordinate IT infrastructure requirements with both internal teams and client-side IT departments.
- Carry out acoustic modelling and speaker coverage analysis using industry-standard heat mapping software.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure technical specifications support procurement and installation.
- Work alongside technical designers and project teams to integrate AV, IT, and smart technology systems into the wider fit-out design.
- Produce coordinated reflected ceiling plans, ensuring compatibility with M&E, architectural, and technology requirements.
- Collaborate with Technical Services and installation teams to ensure all cabling and infrastructure requirements are fully documented.
- Manage technical design revisions throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring changes are accurately communicated and documented.
- Partner closely with Project Managers to identify and resolve coordination issues before installation.
- Maintain high-quality technical documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
