Location: Bromsgrove - Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days remote)
Salary: Up to £40,000 + benefits

Our client, a growing global software and technology organisation, is looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join its technical support team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced support engineer with a strong Microsoft infrastructure background who wants to develop further across Azure, Microsoft 365, cloud infrastructure and security.
You'll work in a fast-paced technical environment, supporting a global customer base while gaining exposure to modern Microsoft technologies including Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Sentinel, Defender and Privileged Identity Management.
What you'll do
- Provide 2nd Line support across incidents and service requests, troubleshooting through to resolution.
- Support technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Intune and Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Monitor Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments, Microsoft 365 services and network connectivity.
- Investigate and resolve security alerts relating to user accounts, suspicious activity, antivirus and endpoint detection.
- Review, install and test application and security updates, using automation where appropriate.
- Support Azure resources including virtual machines, vNets and Storage Accounts.
- Assist with customer migrations and the implementation of new technical solutions.
- Maintain clear communication with customers and internal technical teams throughout incidents and projects.

You'll work closely with customers, Service Desk colleagues and wider technical teams to maintain the availability, performance and security of customer environments.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with a solid background in Microsoft infrastructure and ideally previous experience working at 2nd Line level.
You should have experience across:
- Windows Server, including Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
- Entra ID, including hybrid environments.
- Microsoft Azure, ideally including VMs, vNets, Storage Accounts and Azure Virtual Desktop.
- TCP/IP networking, VPNs and general network troubleshooting.
- Remote Desktop Services, file and print services.
- IT security principles including antivirus, email/web filtering and RBAC.
- PowerShell scripting, with Bash, Python or other scripting experience beneficial.

Previous experience within an MSP or Service Desk environment would be particularly valuable.
Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 certifications are also highly desirable.

You'll be a strong problem solver who is comfortable taking ownership of technical issues and working directly with customers.
You'll communicate clearly, manage competing priorities effectively and have a genuine interest in developing your knowledge across cloud computing, cybersecurity and Microsoft technologies.
Curiosity around AI and emerging technologies, alongside a willingness to learn and adapt as technology evolves, will also be valued.
