Coverage is available across the UK for single-site visits, regional engagements, and multi-site rollout programs.
Role Description
The Information Technology Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Aberdeen, providing field support for local and regional client projects. The engineer will perform hardware installation and replacement, EPOS/POS and self-checkout setup, basic network device checks, and support go-live activities, ensuring systems are correctly configured and operational. The role involves collaborating with project managers and client teams, following agreed procedures, and maintaining high standards of communication and customer service. The engineer will also help identify potential risks or improvements at customer locations and support multi-site rollout programs when required.
Qualifications
- Strong Information Technology knowledge and hands-on experience with field-based technical work
- Solid Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Technical Support capabilities, including on-site user support and break-fix activities
- Networking and Network Security fundamentals, including basic router and switch checks and secure configuration awareness
- Relevant experience with EPOS/POS systems, self-checkout solutions, or retail technology environments is beneficial
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear site documentation and close-out reports
- Ability to work independently on-site, manage time effectively, travel between client locations, and adapt to short-notice assignments
- A relevant IT qualification or certification (e.g., CompTIA, networking or vendor certifications) and a valid right to work in the UK are advantageous
