Senior IT Field Engineer

We are looking for a Senior IT Field Engineer to lead, support and develop a team of Field Engineers while taking responsibility for the quality of IT services delivered across a portfolio of sites.

This is a varied position where you’ll remain technically hands-on, supporting your own allocated sites, while also acting as the regional escalation point and ensuring the wider field engineering team delivers a consistently high standard of service.

The Role

As Lead IT Field Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating field engineering activity across your region, ensuring sites receive the appropriate level of onsite IT support. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, while supporting your team with technical escalations, mentoring and ongoing development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing, mentoring and developing a team of IT Field Engineers
  • Providing hands-on IT support across your own allocated sites
  • Planning and coordinating site visits based on business requirements and support demand
  • Acting as the key escalation point for IT issues across the region
  • Proactively identifying recurring incidents and opportunities to improve IT services
  • Managing incidents, problems and changes through an ITSM environment
  • Supporting Windows-based end-user computing environments
  • Troubleshooting LAN, WAN, wireless and connectivity issues
  • Supporting PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones, printers and other endpoint devices
  • Working with technologies including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, WAN/LAN/VLAN and SD-WAN
  • Coordinating third-party suppliers and other internal IT teams
  • Supporting hardware installations, network configurations and site technology
  • Providing IT support for new sites, acquisitions, expansions and reconfigurations
  • Supporting IT projects, service transitions and technology refresh programmes
  • Building strong relationships with senior business and operational stakeholders
  • Monitoring service performance and using KPIs to identify areas for improvement

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
