Governance Consultant
Location: Fully Remote
Salary: £40,000–£60,000
Nigel Frank International is recruiting on behalf of a growing consultancy seeking a Governance Consultant to support client engagements across AI governance, operating model design, risk management and organisational transformation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong consulting and governance professional to move into the rapidly growing AI governance space. Previous experience in AI governance, Microsoft Copilot or Microsoft technologies is not required; full training will be provided. The focus is on finding someone with excellent client-facing, structured problem-solving and governance capability.
The Role
You will work with clients to understand their current ways of working, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and help design practical governance frameworks, processes and operating models.
The role will involve supporting projects across regulated and professional environments, with legal-sector experience particularly desirable. You will facilitate workshops, engage senior stakeholders, gather requirements and turn complex information into clear recommendations and high-quality reports.

Responsibilities
- Support client engagements across governance, risk, operating model and organisational transformation projects.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to understand current processes, risks and business requirements.
- Design practical governance frameworks, operating models and process improvements.
- Conduct business analysis and requirements gathering across complex client environments.
- Produce structured recommendations, documentation and reports for client stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with clients and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop expertise in AI governance, Microsoft Copilot and the consultancy’s methodologies through training and project exposure.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone with at least five years’ experience in a client-facing consulting, governance or transformation role, ideally operating at Consultant or Senior Consultant level.
Relevant backgrounds could include:
- Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Technology Transformation Consulting
- Information Governance or Data Governance
- Operating Model or Organisational Design

You will ideally bring:
- Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder-management skills
- Experience designing governance frameworks, processes or operating models
- Business analysis and requirements-gathering capability
- The ability to develop clear, structured recommendations and reports
- Confidence working directly with clients in complex, regulated environments
Experience within legal, financial services, professional services or technology/IT services would be advantageous. A legal-sector background would be particularly valuable.
