Ready to accelerate your IT career?
Hello! We're Mitchells & Butlers – one of the UK's leading hospitality businesses, with over 1,750 pubs, bars and restaurants across 19 iconic brands. You might not know our name, but you'll almost certainly know some of our brands, including All Bar One, Miller & Carter and Toby Carvery.
Every day, millions of guests choose to spend time with us, and behind every great guest experience are great people. That's why our IT teams play such a vital role in shaping the colleague experience, developing talent and helping our business thrive.
Our IT Graduate Scheme is designed for graduates who want more than a typical first job. It’s an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across different areas of IT, giving you a broad understanding of the function before deciding where you want to build your career. It’s for ambitious individuals who are excited by challenge, motivated by responsibility and ready to make a real impact from day one.
This year, we're looking for just one exceptional IT graduate to join us. Every year we receive applications from talented graduates across the UK, but we're looking for someone with the curiosity, resilience and drive to stand out from the crowd and become one of our future IT leaders.
Why Mitchells & Butlers?
We're a people-first business, and we genuinely mean it.
One thing our graduates consistently tell us is that it's the people who make Mitchells & Butlers different. From your first day, you'll be surrounded by supportive colleagues, approachable leaders and a close-knit graduate community who want to see you succeed.
You'll never be "just the graduate." You'll be trusted to contribute, encouraged to share your ideas and supported to develop through meaningful experiences that make a genuine difference to our business.
Along the way you'll experience the breadth of one of the UK's biggest hospitality businesses, working across different IT specialisms, brands and business challenges. No two days – or placements – are ever the same.
Who thrives on this scheme?
From the outset, you'll be trusted with meaningful work, contributing to live projects that influence the technological impact on our business. We'll expect you to think commercially, ask great questions, build relationships and take ownership of your development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Hear from one of our graduates
“During my time on the product team, I had the incredible opportunity to contribute to the discovery phase of integrating gamification into our brand apps. I was involved from the ground up, conducting competitor research, defining the requirements for features like a "spin the wheel" game, and collaborating with UX teams to bring our ideas to life through visual mock-ups. As a graduate, it's incredibly rewarding to know that your contributions to projects can have a tangible impact, and to look forward to seeing this within our apps!”
Shannon, IT Graduate
