Smart Building Infrastructure Technician
Location: Gatwick Airport
Role Type: Permanent / On-site
Salary: £30,000-£36,000

Our client is an established smart building technology specialist delivering integrated technology projects and support services across the built environment.
The organisation works across a range of smart building technologies, including structured cabling, network infrastructure, electronic security, audio-visual systems, IoT and wired and wireless networks.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Smart Building Infrastructure Technician to join a dedicated team supporting the installation, maintenance and fault-finding of specialist technology infrastructure across a major airport environment.
You will have strong experience working with copper and fibre cabling, alongside exposure to network infrastructure and other smart building technologies. The role requires a strong focus on technical quality, customer service and Health & Safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate and test copper CAT5e/6/6A, fibre OS1/2 and OM3/4/5, and voice cabling.
- Install and test electronic security and audio-visual cabling.
- Carry out cable certification using Fluke testing equipment and LinkWare.
- Install containment systems including tray, basket, trunking and conduit.
- Install equipment including CCTV, access control, Wi-Fi access points, IoT sensors and AV devices.
- Install network equipment including servers, routers, switches, controllers and WAN equipment.
- Carry out equipment and system patching.
- Support commissioning, maintenance, servicing, fault-finding, rectification, decommissioning and equipment relocation.
- Complete project documentation, certification and progress reporting.
- Work in accordance with RAMS, site procedures and Health & Safety requirements.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' relevant practical experience in a similar role.
- Strong experience installing copper and fibre ICT cabling systems.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure and cabling standards.
- Experience with Fluke DTX 5000 and OTDR testing equipment.
- Awareness of electronic security, CCTV, access control, audio-visual, IoT and wired/wireless network technologies.
- Experience installing containment systems including conduit, tray and basket.
- Valid ECS/CSCS Card.
- Relevant qualification such as CNet CNCI/CNIT, BICSI Installer Level 2/3 or equivalent.
- Full clean driving licence.
- IPAF/PASMA and First Aid are desirable.
- Previous experience within an airport, transport hub or critical infrastructure environment would be advantageous.
