IT Trainer

📍 Location: Cardiff

🏢 Working: Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 2 days from home

💰 Salary: £35,000

✈️ Travel: Occasional monthly travel to other UK offices

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced IT Training professional to join a growing UK organisation and provide IT training support across multiple sites.

The organisation has grown to more than 700 employees and continues to welcome new starters on a regular basis. This role will play an important part in ensuring employees have a positive and well-supported experience when joining the business.

You’ll be based at the Cardiff head office, working as part of a team providing IT training and support across the organisation.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced IT Training professional who is confident delivering systems and software training to colleagues across the business.

You’ll be responsible for delivering regular new starter induction training, supporting existing employees with training when required and helping colleagues understand and confidently use new systems and software.

The role is people-focused, so we're looking for someone who is personable, approachable and able to explain technology in a clear and relatable way rather than being overly technical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver IT training sessions through a variety of formats, including weekly face-to-face and remote new starter induction training.
  • Coordinate training sessions for existing employees when required.
  • Deliver new system training following the rollout of new systems.
  • Respond promptly to requests for assistance through the IT support channel.
  • Create and update training materials, session plans and learning resources.
  • Produce high-quality learning guides for individual departments.
  • Work with departments across the organisation to identify learning and training needs proactively.
  • Support new starters with their IT induction and onboarding, including helping them get set up with the systems and access they need.
  • Provide desk-based IT training where required.
  • Help employees understand and confidently use the organisation’s systems and software.

Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience working in an IT Training or IT Learning role.
  • Experience delivering systems and software training.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • A personable and approachable style, with the ability to build relationships with employees at different levels.
  • The ability to explain technical information in a simple and relatable way.
  • Strong general PC literacy.
  • Good knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience creating training materials, learning guides or other training content.
  • The ability to identify training needs and work with different departments to address them.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage regular training and induction sessions.

Desirable

Experience with law-specific software, such as iManage or Visualfiles, would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working Pattern & Travel

The role is based in Cardiff, with a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

You’ll primarily deliver inductions in Cardiff, with new starters joining the organisation every week.

The role may also involve monthly travel between UK offices, including:

  • London
  • Manchester
  • Plymouth
  • Southampton
