The Opportunity

As an IT Support & Systems Intern, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of technologies while supporting users across the business. You'll develop practical experience in Microsoft cloud services, endpoint management, networking, cybersecurity, device deployment, and IT operations.

You'll work closely with colleagues from multiple departments, helping to improve technology processes while building the technical and professional skills expected of a modern IT professional.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

  • Deliver first and second-line technical support to employees across multiple locations.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and peripheral issues.
  • Manage incidents and service requests while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately while taking ownership of resolutions.

Cloud & Microsoft 365 Administration

  • Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Provision and deprovision user accounts, licenses, and permissions.
  • Support identity and access management through Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Assist with mailbox management and collaboration tools.

Endpoint Management

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain Windows laptops and mobile devices.
  • Assist with device lifecycle management and inventory control.
  • Support endpoint security, updates, encryption, and compliance.
  • Help maintain standardised device builds and deployment processes.

Infrastructure & Networking

  • Assist with maintaining local networks, Wi-Fi connectivity, VPN access, and printers.
  • Support troubleshooting of connectivity and infrastructure issues.
  • Gain exposure to firewalls, switches, routers, and cloud networking concepts.

Cybersecurity

  • Support cybersecurity initiatives including endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication, and security awareness.
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation and security best practices.
  • Help maintain compliance with organisational IT policies.
  • Participate in routine security monitoring and documentation.

You'll have the opportunity to contribute to projects such as:

About You

We're looking for someone who is naturally inquisitive, enjoys solving technical challenges, and is eager to build a career in IT.

You may have recently completed a degree, diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in:

  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Cyber Security
  • Software Engineering
  • Information Systems
  • Network Engineering
  • A related technology discipline

Equivalent practical experience or demonstrable personal projects are also welcomed.

Essential Skills

  • Strong understanding of Windows 10/11.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and cloud services.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi.
  • Understanding of computer hardware and operating systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies.

  • ServiceNow, Notion, or similar IT service management and knowledge management platforms

  • Basic SQL knowledge
