ABOUT THE CLIENT
Due to continued growth, we're working with an established Managed Services Provider that delivers high-quality IT support into the education sector. They're looking to appoint an experienced Local IT Lead to take ownership of IT across two sites in Stevenage, acting as the senior onsite technical resource and trusted point of contact for users.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on role with plenty of autonomy, whilst still having the support of a wider technical team behind them.
THE LOCAL IT LEAD ROLE
As the Local IT Lead, you'll be responsible for delivering 1st, 2nd and initial 3rd Line support across two education sites in Stevenage. You'll take ownership of the onsite ticket queue, troubleshoot complex technical issues, support classroom technology, maintain accurate documentation and asset registers, and deliver small infrastructure projects under the guidance of the Technical Account Manager.

You'll also act as the senior onsite technical contact, mentoring junior engineers, working closely with school staff and third-party suppliers, and ensuring the IT environment continues to operate efficiently across both sites.
LOCAL IT LEAD ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Previous experience in a Senior 2nd Line or 3rd Line IT Support role
- Windows Server & Windows 10/11
- Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Teams & SharePoint
- Active Directory & Group Policy
- Networking including switches, VLANs & Wi-Fi
- Microsoft Intune or similar endpoint management experience
- Hardware troubleshooting and deployment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with technical and non-technical users
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of an onsite IT environment
