Role: IT Manager

Location: South Manchester

Salary: £50,000–£60,000

Work Pattern: Office Based

The company is looking for an IT Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day IT function, balancing hands-on technical work with the management and development of a small team. This is a practical role suited to someone who enjoys being involved technically while also taking responsibility for the wider IT operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support a small IT team.
  • Provide hands-on technical support across the business.
  • Oversee day-to-day IT infrastructure, systems and services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues.
  • Manage Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows environments.
  • Support IT projects and improvements.
  • Manage suppliers and third-party IT providers where required.
  • Ensure systems are secure, reliable and well maintained.
  • Mentor and develop members of the IT team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an IT Manager, IT Team Lead or Senior IT Support/Infrastructure position.
  • Strong hands-on technical background.
  • Experience managing or mentoring an IT team.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft technologies, particularly Microsoft 365 and Azure.
  • Confident troubleshooting technical issues and managing escalations.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable being both hands-on technically and responsible for the team.
