IT Transition Manager – MSP & SOC
6-month contract | UK-based | £500-£525 Outside IR35
Location
UK-based, with occasional travel to London and Manchester
Reporting to
Programme Manager
A leading UK organisation is transforming its managed technology and cyber security services. We need an experienced IT Transition Manager to lead the migration of MSP and Security Operations Centre capabilities to new providers. This is a high-profile, hands-on assignment requiring strong leadership, rigorous governance and the ability to deliver at pace without disrupting the business.
Responsibilities
As IT Transition Manager will lead the transition across:
- Service Desk and End User Computing
- Application Support
- Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
- Identity, infrastructure and networking
- SOC and cyber security operations

Working with incumbent suppliers, incoming providers and internal teams, you will drive the transition plan, manage risks and dependencies, coordinate knowledge transfer and confirm operational readiness.
You will hold suppliers accountable, lead governance meetings and report clearly to senior stakeholders. You will also oversee testing, service acceptance, cutover, hypercare and handover into BAU.
Your skills
- Proven experience leading MSP, outsourcing or complex technology transitions
- Strong ITIL and operational-readiness knowledge
- Experience transitioning Service Desk, EUC and Microsoft cloud services
- Excellent supplier and senior stakeholder management skills
- Confidence operating at both strategic and detailed delivery levels
- A decisive approach to resolving risks, issues and blockers

SOC or cyber security transition experience is highly desirable. Experience in private equity-backed, acquisition-led or multi-site organisations would be an advantage.
You will deliver the transition on schedule, maintain service levels and avoid material disruption. Suppliers will be onboarded, knowledge transferred and all services ready for a controlled move into BAU.
